1x Spare 0.8Ω Coil
1x Spare Drip Tip
4x Replacement Mouthpiece O-Rings
1x Quick Start Guide
The Zenith comes in both 4ml and 2ml TPD compliant versions. Let’s take a look at the 4ml version.
Dimitris and Phil collaborated with Innokin to bring the Zenith. It’s part of the Platform Series, focusing on “Mouth To Lung” style vaping. The tank itself is 24.7mm and uses pre-built Zenith coils. The options for these coils is 1.6Ω and 0.8 ohms. The 0.8Ω version obviously gives a somewhat warmer vape, but the 1.6Ω version has been excellent at low ohms using nicotine salts.
The tank itself is SS construction that uses Pyrex. It is also available in a “colored” black and red versions. It has an adjustable airflow ring that goes from 5 holes down to a single 1mm hole. The action on the ring is fairly stiff so accidental turning shouldn’t be a real issue.
Filling is simple, as “ease of use” was a primary focus in the development of this tank. Top-fill that opens by simply twisting the top, the top rotates to reveal the fill slot. The slot itself is large enough to accommodate almost any size dropper. The interesting feature is that the rotating portion is connected to inner workings that effectively close off juice access to the coil when opened for filling. This intricate addition means that the tank pieces are more integrated, meaning you won’t be able to change the glass – but in return for that trade-off – you now effectively eliminate flooding and gurgling, an inherent problem with the Nautilus series by Aspire.
In terms of the actual vape, multiple holes worked well with the warmer 0.8Ω coil, and closed right down to a single hole was great with the 1.6Ω coil. Even at a single hole, it may not be tight enough for some, but the problem is easily alleviated with a SLOW, SMOOTH draw. The flavor is excellent for a disposable coil atty with both coil versions! Make no mistake, this is a mouth to lung atomizer, though wide open, you might manage a restricted lung hit with the 0.8Ω coil.
Replacement of the coil is foolproof and easily done. The bottom unscrews to reveal the slot…the coils is essentially “plug and play”. The 1.6Ω coil had a slightly longer break-in period, lasting almost a full tank, before the flavor kicks in fully. Be sure to follow the guide for pre-soaking your coil prior to use.
The biggest factors that determine a “buy” are coil life and coil availability. Coil life has been excellent. I went on an extended period using the Zenith as my only atty trying to burn out the coil. It lasted rough 8 tanks of nicotine salts ( your mileage may vary ) with a liquid known for eating coils. For the average user, this should equate to a couple of weeks which is beyond expectations. I’m only on my 4th tank with the 0.8Ω and am hoping the life will be equally good. As for availability…I’m told there are other projects that will use the same coil set, so they won’t be exclusive solely to the Zenith – so those 5 pack boxes of Zenith Heads shouldn’t be hard to acquire.
The package is complete with extra o-rings, an additional curved driptip. Choice is strictly personal preference for feel as there is little difference to the vape quality. The package also comes complete with a mini user guide, and a piece with a QR code. Scan that code on most phones, and it will take you directly to the Innokin site for tips and tutorials for use, maintenance and trouble shooting.
Ever get lazy and just want to vape simply? Here is a virtually foolproof atty that easy enough for a new vaper, but has a satisfying vape worthy of a vaping veteran. The build quality is decent, the fit is great and I haven’t experienced any issue with wear and tear on the black finish I have. The price is decent, but the long term value may be in the life of the coils.
My only issue is the 24.7mm diameter. Too large to fit on some devices this would work well on, but I understand the trade-off to keep the overall height in check.
*Highly recommended for MTL fans looking for “easy”.
