Aspire follows up the Breeze system with the Spryte. We’ll refer to this as an “AIO – All In One” as opposed to a “pod”. With the coil being changeable, it’s more suitable classification. There is only a single fire button that also has the “5 click” on/off function.
Fit and Finish:
The form factor is different than the Breeze – it’s a longer squared “pen” style device. The Spryte uses the same aluminum material as the Breeze did. The slightly matte finish is fairly resistant to everyday bumps and shows no real sign of wear after several weeks of use. The exception was light scratching on the smoke plastic cap. The tank itself clicks firmly into place with no fear of it popping out – a small degree of force is needed to pull the tank out. The switch is clicky with overly bright LED’s that light up when the button is pressed or when plugged in via micro USB for charging. USB port is on the bottom and vent holes are cut into the side.
The version I have is the North American version – with a 3.5mL tank. TPD compliant 2mL version is also available for Europe. The fill port is plugged with an easy to grip silicone stopper that is attached to the tank itself to prevent loss. The port is approximately 4+mm and large enough to use a glass dropper to fill. The tank is also the mouthpiece. The metal piece that the coil gets screwed into is easily removed for changing – and also features an adjustable airflow ring.
The Spryte features BVC coils the use Nichrome wire. Aspire claims 12w constant output, and this is apparent in the vape. The vape remains fairly consistent up until the point the LED’s turn red. The battery is listed at 650 mAh – which was decent, but you may find yourself in need of a charge during the day.
The vape itself is EXCELLENT! Warm, saturated, flavourful. Fairly decent tight draw is excellent for mouth to lung. The Spryte does vape warmer than most other compact devices – due to using BVC coils instead of coils built into a pod. I’m getting just over 5 tank fulls on a coil – using a not overly sweet – clear salt nic e-liquid – just under 4 tanks with Boba’s nic salt….with the 1.8 ohm coil. Just be aware that as previous BVC coils, you will start to get gurgling when the coil starts to go…and that could mean spitback – not so swell when you’re vaping salts.
LED’s are brighter than they need to be. Not a major problem, but I don’t necessarily require the “Bat Signal” to light up every time I take a puff – hand over the LED’s solves this. Tank must be empty to change the coils – again, minor issue. The angled cut of the base makes this a half toppled domino – laying it on it’s side is the best option. Slight condensation in the mouthpiece. Minor niggles only, but worth noting.
All in all, the Spryte is definitely gives a nice quality vape and is worth picking up. The build quality is decent and coil life is decent to boot.
